There is no exact information about the presence of other elements in the kit (headsets, clips for working with SIM cards, etc.).

With regards to the appearance of the new item, despite its attribution to the budget category, it has a stylish and modern design, represented by the following features:

  • rather thin body - 9.3 mm, width - 70.6 mm, and length - 146 mm;

The color palette of the presented model is known to be steel (Steel) and tungsten - black (Tungsten Black) colors.

In addition, attention should be paid to such a detail that the manufacturer decides to resume development in the announced smartphone in the form of removable panels. Screen features

The diagonal of the screen of the announced device model is 5.71 inches (81.4 sq. Cm), which leaves about 79% of the usable area of the front side. The Nokia 2.2 display is touch-sensitive, equipped with an IPS-matrix, but does not provide additional protective equipment. Other important characteristics:

  • 720 x 1520 pixel resolution (HD +);
  • density of about 295 ppi;
  • aspect ratio 19: 9;
  • color length 16M.

In addition, the device screen is equipped with an additional technology - Always-on display. Support for this function makes it possible to significantly save the battery charging of the device, by displaying the necessary data on the display at the moment it is turned off.

The image is of high quality, has maximum viewing angles and is reproduced in real color shades. When viewing pictures, good brightness, high definition and contrast are provided. The sharpness of the transmission does not change even when using the smartphone in the bright sun.

Hardware and performance

The hardware filling of the budget model is a quad-core MediaTek MT6761 Helio A22 processor with a 12 nm technical process. Not too smart, but productive chipset runs on Cortex-A53 computing cores with a clock frequency of 2 GHz. The graphics of the smartphone are represented by the PowerVR GE8320 accelerator. Of course, it is rather weak for powerful active games, but in other tasks the processor is able to work quickly, which allows us to speak of good device performance.

If we talk about Nokia 2.2 memory, the manufacturer has provided two modifications of the device:

  • the first - 3 GB of RAM, built-in memory - 32 GB;
  • the second - 2 GB of RAM, built-in memory - 16 GB.

Your phone allows you to use additional storage devices in the form of microSD cards. With their help, you can expand the storage capacity up to 400 GB.

For the functionality of the novelty, the "pure" (without shell) Android is responsible. In other words, Nokia 2.2 will run on Android 9.0 (Pie) operating system as part of Android One. This option provides for three years of support for the device, including monthly security updates and receiving firmware up to Android 10 Q on the right of the first stage.

Cameras: characteristics and quality of shooting

Considering that the presented model is not an ultra-fashionable expensive flagship, it should be understood that the devices for shooting on it will be standard with average technical characteristics. Nokia 2.2 has two of them:

  • Rear camera: single-module with a maximum resolution of 13 megapixels (4128 by 3096 pixels), f / 2.2 optics, with a 1.12 micron sensor, with a 1/3 ″ matrix diagonal and autofocus. Equipped with LED flash and provides HDR and panoramic shooting mode. Video recording format: 1080p @ 30fps
  • Front camera: single-module with a maximum image resolution of 5 megapixels (2592 by 1944 pixels), f / 2.2 optics, LED LED flash, Full HD video format (1920 × 1080) - 30 frames / sec, automatic focus and face recognition mode, but no optical stabilization.

The quality of images on the device's cameras meets the standards of 2016-2017, so you should not expect professional results from them. Therefore, in order not to be disappointed in the future, you should take into account in advance how the device takes pictures day and night. An example of a photo from a Nokia 2.2 smartphone can be viewed on the manufacturer's website, as well as after its release on sale (from July 2019) and on many other Internet resources.

Sound and multimedia

The presented model belongs to the category of smartphones equipped with a 3.5 mm jack for connecting a wired headset. It is located at the top of the device.

The Nokia 2.2's speakers are of good quality, capable of producing clear sound without extraneous noise, but the audio playback volume is average (the more expensive models have more powerful speakers).When using headphones, the clarity and quality of sound depends more on the characteristics of the headset. In the conversation mode, the speakerphone function is provided.

The device is equipped with a built-in FM radio application. The device supports all popular audio and video formats such as MP3, WAV, MIDI, AMR, FLAC, AVI, MP4, 3GPP, MKV and many others.

Autonomy

Autonomous operation of the device is provided by a non-removable Li-Ion battery with a capacity of 3000 mAh. The adaptive battery function allows you to monitor user preferences and reduce the discharge rate of your smartphone. The device is charged via the included USB cable by connecting a 5-watt adapter to the network. To connect it, a micro-USB 2.0 connector is equipped at the bottom of the device.

This model does not support fast battery recharge. The operating time of the device depends on the nature of its use. Watching video and playing games will require large amounts of power, which will significantly reduce the capabilities of the smartphone without recharging (on average 6 hours) than when using it in the call and SMS mode (on average, up to two days).

Communication and networking technologies

The manufacturer has provided for the phone to work with a single SIM-card (Nano-SIM) or in dual sim mode. The device is compatible with almost all cellular standards.

Nokia 2.2 supports GSM / HSPA / LTE network technologies on most modern frequencies:

  • 2G bands - GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz - SIM 1 and SIM 2 (only for dual-SIM models);
  • 3G bands - HSDPA 850/900/2100 MHz;
  • 4G bands: LTE band 1 (2100), 3 (1800), 5 (850), 7 (2600), 8 (900), 20 (800), 38 (2600), 40 (2300) MHz and LTE-TDD band 1 (2100), 3 (1800), 5 (850), 40 (2300), 41 (2500) MHz.

Network features of device data transmission: HSPA 42.2 / 5.76 Mb / s, LTE Cat4 150/50 Mb / s.

The smartphone is equipped with the following wireless interfaces:

  • Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n and Wi-Fi Hotspot;
  • Bluetooth version 4.2 with support for A2DP and LE options.

Among the navigation capabilities of the novelty is the well-known GPS system, as well as other modern applications: A-GPS, GLONASS and BDS, the functioning of which depends on the geography of the location of the device.

For the presented model, there is the possibility of wired connection to other digital devices (to a PC, laptop, TV) via the micro-USB input, equipped with the On-The-Go function. At the same time, the smartphone does not provide support for the technology of wireless high-frequency communication of a short range - Near field communication (NFC).

Built-in sensors and scanners

As mentioned above, there is no fingerprint scanner on the body of the device, nor on the display, since the manufacturer created a budget smartphone at the most affordable price. Its function was partly shifted to the built-in face recognition program Face Unlock. But you should be aware that in the dark, unlocking the device with your face will not work, in this case you will have to enter the password.

However, the device is equipped with a number of standard sensors:

  • accelerometer;
  • proximity sensor;
  • light control sensor.

Device cost

Due to the fact that the Nokia 2.2 model was officially presented only at the beginning of June 2019 and has not yet been released to the retail market, there is no exact information about how much it costs. It is assumed that the average price of an ultra-budget novelty will be about 90 EUR, which is approximately equal to 7,000 rubles.

One of them is Nokia 2.2. - a new smartphone presented on June 6, 2019 at a special event by HMD Global.
