Review of Samsung Galaxy A51 smartphone with key features

Today's smart device market never ceases to amaze with its diversity. Every day there is information about a new device, which promises to be the best and compete with all its predecessors. Mobile phones in all their varieties have ceased to be a luxury and have become an urgent every second necessity in human life. Any user can choose a smartphone for himself according to his pocket, technical parameters and the most sophisticated requirements. Most often, attention is focused on well-known brands that are considered more reliable and prestigious. One of them, of course, remains Samsung.

At the very beginning of 2019, a new model Samsung Galaxy A50 appeared, in August its updated version of the A50s, and by the end of the year, information about the new continuation of the Samsung Galaxy A51 series flashed on the network. What's new will be presented by the famous manufacturer and how it will try to surprise its users. With the rapid growth of competition, you have to invent bright designs, new chips and improve the parameters over and over again.

Design and features

With all the need to present a variety of designs, Samsung remains adamant about the classic look. A strict shape with rounded corners, comfortable dimensions (158.4 * 73.7 * 7.9), which combine ease of use in a conversation and when viewing files on the screen. A special feature of the front panel will be an unusual hole for the front camera at the top. The drop-shaped notch is a thing of the past; it has been replaced by an elegant "peephole" that does not distract attention during regular Internet surfing, but at the same time, hides a full-fledged device for shooting high-quality selfies. The thin bezels of the screen do not affect its view in any way. The back panel is smooth and shiny. If this model becomes a continuation of its predecessor and appears in a plastic version, it will hardly be possible to please users. All discussions suggest that the A51 will be of interest only if the case is glass. Even high-quality plastic is still inferior to glass. On the back of the device, traditionally in the upper left corner, is the main camera (four compact sensors and a flash). The camera does not protrude clearly from the body, so it does not create any inconvenience when using the smartphone in a supine position.

Control buttons have a classic arrangement on the right side panel. On the left is a slot for SIM cards and flash memory. The bottom side is a Type-C connector and an unchanged mini-jack for a headset. Speakers and microphones did not change their place and remained in the same places.

There is no clear information about the color yet. It is precisely known about the black glossy color of the smartphone, but other colors are possible. After all, color variety is of great importance in attracting the public.

Display and its features

The screen size is 6.5 inches or 103.7 square centimeters, which is equal to a screen-to-body ratio of approximately 88.8%. Given the desire to attract buyers, it makes no sense for the manufacturer to lower the quality of the screen, so this is a super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display with the same 16 million colors and shades. 2.5D glass is installed with protection. The pixel resolution promises to be the same 1080 x 2340 pixels with the classic 19.5: 9 ratio for the last series, but the pixel density has dropped below ~ 396 ppi, which can significantly affect the image quality.

Platform and memory

Samsung, without hesitation, equipped its new brainchild with its own Exynos 9611 (10 nm) chipset with a Mali-G72 MP3 graphics processor, which, according to many comparative characteristics, is not just not worse than Snapdragon, but in some respects it is much better.

1. Performance and speed in applications and games, albeit slightly, but exceeds the capabilities of its competitor from Qualcomm;
2. The Samsung platform supports more RAM (up to 6 GB);
3. The size of the transistor (10 nm) is smaller, which automatically speeds up all processes;
4. The Exynos 9611 also beats Snapdragon by 10% in its potential energy efficiency rating.
5. Graphics Mali-G72 MP3 versus Adreno 612 does not have superfluous advantages, but it cannot be called worse either.

Thus, the manufacturer has once again shown its position independent of forced cooperation, thereby raising its rating among competitors.

Memory volumes

With regard to memory, it is still difficult to say exactly what Samsung will offer. Presumably, according to the information that has appeared, the Galaxy A51 model will be released in three versions, which will have different prices due to differences in volumes:

1. 4 GB RAM + 64 GB internal memory;
2. 4 GB + 128 GB;
3. 6 GB + 128 GB.

In addition, there is the possibility of expanding the storage space up to 1 TB. There is a separate dedicated slot for the additional storage card, so you don't have to lose the device's ability to support two SIM cards.

• Even the youngest model in the series offers a decent amount of memory;
• In connection with the proposed options, users have the opportunity to choose a device at a suitable cost;
• To expand the storage, 1 TB is allowed, which automatically makes the smartphone convenient for both work (requiring information storage) and leisure (a lot of space for downloading music and video files);
• There is a separate cell for microSD in a solid SIM card slot.

Camcorders and image quality

In a frantic pace of competing companies, Samsung is looking for alternatives to improve its new product. Today, a smartphone replaces everything, it is a means of communication, a mini laptop for work, a video and audio player, as well as a camera. Among the most active users in the first place are young people, who focus on the quality of photos and the ability to shoot videos. This is why the Galaxy A51 will have a new 4-lens main camera and a higher resolution front camera.

The main camera unit is located in the upper left corner of the rear panel. It has 4 built-in sensors with different resolutions and functions that are different from each other. The main 48MP lens is a pretty decent resolution for the supposedly mid-budget line of models. The second 12 megapixel lens with the main task of "telephoto" is responsible for 2x optical zoom. The next one in the block - also 12 megapixels, regulates the increase in the angular grips of the shot composition. Wide angle shooting is also involved in night mode. 2MP for portraits and artistic photos with built-in effects.

The quality of the photo and video corresponds to the assigned tasks and should please the photo lovers.

Selfie camera - 32 MP. There are some smart photo processing elements. The user can independently adjust the level of smoothing of defects. Also, the front camera is capable of transmitting a good image in video calls of applications.

For the performance and functionality offered, the device desperately needs a large battery. The manufacturer had no right to blunder in this matter, so the battery of the new Galaxy (non-removable lithium-polymer) is rated at 4000 mAh. 15W fast battery charging is a great addition to the overall picture of the device.

The date of the official presentation of the new smartphone Samsung Galaxy A51 has not yet been determined. This will be roughly the end of December, beginning of January. But already according to the available data of parameters and descriptions, we can conclude that the device will be competitive in its price range.
